Willst du mit mir hingehen?&#8220; Ich so, &#8222;Klar.&#8220; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Benedict ist nur ein Jahr \u00e4lter als ich und ich konnte seiner Karriere aus der Ferne (immer Mal wieder auch neidisch) zusehen. Und sp\u00e4testens, seit er im April <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BenedictWellsWriter\/posts\/200513295216847\">ein paar wundersch\u00f6ne Worte \u00fcber &#8222;Immer noch wach&#8220; geschrieben hat<\/a>, ist er der Beste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das letzte Mal war ich <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mokita.de\/blog\/2017\/02\/26\/lesung-t-c-boyle-im-wizemann-stuttgart-am-15-02-17\/\">2017 bei T.C. Boyle<\/a> bei einer Lesung im Wizemann. Ein gro\u00dfer Saal voller euphorischer Menschen und ein gro\u00dfartiger Abend, damals. Diesmal auch, nur mit Maske. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Konzertmanier ist der Einlass verz\u00f6gert, aber trotz aller Kontrollen sehr fl\u00fcssig und reibungslos. Mit freier Platzwahl und fr\u00fch genug da sein sitzen wir in der zweiten Reihe in der Mitte. Auf der B\u00fchne eine Mischung aus Wohnzimmer und Kinokasse, mit Filmrollen und Postern und Wohnzimmerlampen und Popcornmaschine und altem Kinoschild. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacobbrass.com\/\">Jakob Brass<\/a> kommt auf die B\u00fchne und spielt eine Acoustic-Version von Springsteens &#8222;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lrpXArn3hII\">I&#8217;m on fire<\/a>&#8222;, warm und sanft und gef\u00fchlvoll. Danach holt er Benedict Wells auf die B\u00fchne und der Saal jubelt und applaudiert, bis er sagt, &#8222;wir haben doch noch gar nichts gemacht!&#8220; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ich habe Benedict nie kennengelernt, und mein Bild war, dass er selten Interviews gibt, eher sch\u00fcchtern ist und sich bedeckt h\u00e4lt. Auf der B\u00fchne aber steht ein Mann, der richtig Spa\u00df hat und all das genie\u00dft. Keine Rampensau, aber jemand, der eine sehr gute Zeit hat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Er zeigt uns seine Sneaker (so nah an &#8222;Zur\u00fcck in die Zukunft, wie m\u00f6glich, viel zu teuer und zu klein), Jakob und er erz\u00e4hlen ein bisschen was und wir lachen schon zum ersten, zweiten, dritten Mal. Von Anfang an findet alles auf der B\u00fchne und irgendwie auch im Saal auf Augenh\u00f6he statt. Trotz Maske und Abstand ist sofort ein Raum da, in dem wir uns wohlf\u00fchlen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Benedict erz\u00e4hlt von der Entstehung von <a href=\"https:\/\/yourbook.shop\/book\/?isbn=9783257071481&amp;ref=jahfaby\">Hard Land<\/a> und erw\u00e4hnt dabei seine Inspirationen und Vorbilder, wie <a href=\"https:\/\/yourbook.shop\/book\/?isbn=9783257236477&amp;ref=jahfaby\">Joey Goebel<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/yourbook.shop\/book\/?isbn=9783453425897&amp;ref=jahfaby\">Stephen Chbosky<\/a> und <a href=\"https:\/\/yourbook.shop\/book\/?isbn=9783499256356&amp;ref=jahfaby\">Wolfgang Herrndorf<\/a>, aber auch John Hughes, John Cusack und die &#8222;Zur\u00fcck in die Zukunft&#8220;-Reihe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nach seinen Lesepassagen steigt Jakob mit der Musik ein, manchmal eigene Songs aus dem neuen Album &#8222;Circletown&#8220;, manchmal eigene Versionen typischer 80er-Songs, wobei es nie einfach ein abwechselndes Programm ist, sondern immer mehr Soundtrack zu der Szene, die wir gerade geh\u00f6rt haben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Irgendwann l\u00e4sst Benedict das Publikum Fragen stellen und ich bin schon bereit, dass die Show gleich zu Ende sein wird. Stattdessen geht es danach einfach weiter. Wie simpel es ist, diese alte Struktur von Lesungen aufzubrechen, aber unglaublich erfrischend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Am st\u00e4rksten wird der Abend dann, wenn Benedict seine Unsicherheiten zeigt. Wenn er beispielsweise von seinem jahrelangen Kampf mit seinen Texten erz\u00e4hlt, die er immer noch nicht so gut findet, wie sie sein k\u00f6nnten. Oder wenn er eine Passage liest und dann bemerkt, dass er einen Teil vergessen hat. Oder, wenn er sich ganz am Ende bedankt und die letzte Passage liest, das Publikum applaudiert und Jakob seine langsame Akustikversion von Green Days <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/rWfB4-Wr4Oo?t=56\">&#8222;Good Riddance (Time of your life)&#8220;<\/a> spielt und den zweiten Refrain pl\u00f6tzlich Benedict singt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Er ist unsicher und tats\u00e4chlich kein geborener S\u00e4nger und er sieht auch danach so aus, als h\u00e4tte er das nur getan, weil er eine Wette verloren hat. Aber dieser Mut, sich an diesem Abend regelm\u00e4\u00dfig so verletzlich zu zeigen, macht diese Show so gro\u00dfartig. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Schlange am Merch-Stand ist viel zu lang und <a href=\"https:\/\/emeraldnotes.de\/\">Elena von Emerald Notes<\/a> erz\u00e4hlt sp\u00e4ter, dass sie noch bis nach Mitternacht dort standen. Da bin ich schon l\u00e4ngst wieder zu Hause, beseelt und positivst \u00fcberrascht. Danke daf\u00fcr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Benedict Wells und Jakob Brass sind noch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hard-land.de\/#tour\">bis 15. November unterwegs<\/a>, vielleicht bekommt ihr noch Tickets.
