David Nathan spricht seit Jahren alle Geschichten von Stephen King. Das reicht, um in Chaos Walking reinzuh\u00f6ren. Leider hat ein Virus aber alle Frauen get\u00f6tet und die Gedanken der M\u00e4nner (und der Tiere) f\u00fcr alle h\u00f6rbar gemacht. Todd wird bald 13 und damit zum Mann, als eine Kapsel vom Himmel f\u00e4llt und Todd zum ersten Mal einem M\u00e4dchen gegen\u00fcber steht. Und dann geht die Flucht los. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ich brauchte eine Weile, bis ich mit diesem Konzept der h\u00f6rbaren Gedanken (L\u00e4rm) warm geworden bin. Mich hat nie losgelassen, warum das nur M\u00e4nner trifft (und was das f\u00fcr Nicht-Cis-Menschen bedeutet), aber ich verstehe, dass Ness das f\u00fcr seine Geschichte braucht. Und es wird auch noch wichtig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Einerseits ist Chaos Walking eine dystopische Reise, wie wir sie in den vergangenen Jahren (The Hunger Games, Maze Runner) immer wieder gesehen haben. Und \u00e4hnlich wie zumindest bei den Hunger Games passt der Film die Protagonist:innen so an, dass sie ein gr\u00f6\u00dferes Publikum ansprechen. Im Buch ist Todd, knapp 13, im Film wird er von Tom Holland gespielt, der 24 ist und vielleicht gerade so als noch 16 durchgeht. Aber niemals j\u00fcnger. Dass David Nathan nun das H\u00f6rbuch spricht, macht Todd einerseits zwar auch \u00e4lter, aber Nathan bekommt es schon gut hin, diese kindliche Naivit\u00e4t zu \u00fcbertragen. Die Geschichte soweit macht Spa\u00df, ich h\u00f6re ihr gern zu. Ich kann sowieso gut mit solchen dystopischen Geschichten. Was Ness&#8216; Konzept der h\u00f6rbaren Gedanken dann aber dann doch ziemlich faszinierend macht:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Sprechende Tiere. Wir haben uns alle schonmal \u00fcberlegt, was ein Hund oder eine Katze denken. Manchee ist der Hund von Todd, den er eigentlich nie haben wollte, der uns aber durch seine Art und als stellvertretender Sprecher seiner Spezies extrem schnell sehr ans Herz w\u00e4chst. Und auch, was andere Tiere denken, ist in manchen F\u00e4llen witzig, in anderen sehr ber\u00fchrend.<\/li><li>Nicht nur wir Leser:innen (oder H\u00f6rer:innen) h\u00f6ren den L\u00e4rm, sondern auch die anderen Figuren im Buch. Was Patrick Ness eine einzigartige M\u00f6glichkeit gibt: Die Leute um Todd reagieren auf die Geschichte. Mehr als einmal erz\u00e4hlt Todd uns etwas, so wie wir es aus anderen Ich-Erz\u00e4hlungen kennen. Aber jemand im Buch reagiert darauf. Das ist ein erfrischender Effekt, der mich jedes Mal neu fasziniert. Und es ist ein sch\u00f6nes Beispiel, wie manche Dinge nicht in allen Medien funktionieren. W\u00e4hrend Buch und H\u00f6rbuch diesen Effekt sehr sch\u00f6n illustrieren, wird er beim Film nicht umsetzbar sein. Aber der Trailer l\u00e4sst erahnen, dass der L\u00e4rm daf\u00fcr auf seine eigene Art cool geworden ist.<\/li><li>Der L\u00e4rm verst\u00e4rkt die Angst der M\u00e4nner den Frauen gegen\u00fcber. Achtung, Spoiler. Nat\u00fcrlich gibt es in der Gemeinde von Todd ein b\u00f6ses Geheimnis, das er nicht erfahren darf. Eines, das mit Unterdr\u00fcckung zu tun hat. Im Laufe des Buches wird diese Mechanik &#8222;L\u00e4rm&#8220; zu einer eindr\u00fccklichen Metapher unserer Realit\u00e4t, was Gleichberechtigung, Religion und toxische M\u00e4nnlichkeit angeht. Deshalb war ich irgendwann auch wieder okay mit dieser unerkl\u00e4rlichen Sache, die nur M\u00e4nner betrifft.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dieses Buch endet voll im Cliffh\u00e4nger. Und bisher gibt es kein weiteres H\u00f6rbuch und auch keine weitere B\u00fccher von Chaos Walking. Zumindest nicht in der Neuauflage. Nach ein wenig mehr googeln kommt raus, diese Trilogie ist vor mehr als zehn Jahren schon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.de\/gp\/bookseries\/B00Y96V9U6\/ref=dp_st_3473352993\">auf Deutsch herausgekommen<\/a>, damals noch bei Ravensburger, unter dem Titel &#8222;New World&#8220;, aber schon mit diesem H\u00f6rbuch. Nun hoffe ich, dass der Film gut und so erfolgreich wird, dass auch die restlichen Teile von David Nathan eingesprochen werden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/mojoreads.de\/book\/?isbn=9783570313084&amp;ref=jahfaby\">Chaos Walking<\/a> von Patrick Ness wurde \u00fcbersetzt von Petra Koob-Pawis und eingesprochen von David Nathan und erschien bei <a href=\"https:\/\/www.der-audio-verlag.de\/hoerbuecher\/chaos-walking-das-hoerbuch-zum-film-ness-patrick-978-3-7424-1499-1\/\">DAV<\/a>.
