Dieser ist abgehalftert und hat sich fast zu Tode gesoffen, hat kaum noch Kontakt zu Menschen. Aber Jan will zu ihm und will die erste authorisierte Biografie \u00fcber ihn schreiben.<\/p>\n<p>Vor knapp zehn Jahren hatte ich meine gro\u00dfe Hippie\/Beatnik\/Jack Kerouac\/Tom Wolfe\/Ken Kesey-Phase und ich habe mich tief in die Materie gelesen und gef\u00fchlt. Als ich Anfang des Jahres von Anthony McCartens neuem Roman \u00fcber Kerouac geh\u00f6rt habe, habe ich mich sehr dar\u00fcber gefreut, wieder in die Zeit einzutauchen. Genau das gelingt auch mit dem Roman. Er bringt mich zur\u00fcck in die 1960er, ein Wiedertreffen mit alten Freunden, mit denen ich diese neue Geschichte erlebe.<\/p>\n<p>Anfangs tue ich mich schwer, in die Geschichte aus der Ich-Perspektive einzutauchen. Ich mag Jans Art nicht, finde sie auch nicht sympathisch. Bis ich mich eingegrooved habe. Und der Roman seine erste Wendung nimmt. Davon hat McCarten einige und sie machen aus dem Roman mehr als die typische &#8218;junges M\u00e4dchen trifft auf grummeligen alten Mann und schafft Ver\u00e4nderung&#8216; &#8211; Geschichte. Zus\u00e4tzlich glaube ich, dass der Roman besser funktioniert, je mehr man \u00fcber Kerouac und die Zeit wei\u00df. Weil es dann Irritationen gibt, die sich im Laufe des Romans umso sauberer Aufl\u00f6sen.<\/p>\n<p>Eine sehr gut und schnell runterlesbare Geschichte \u00fcber Identit\u00e4ten und Idole, die voll in mein Unterhaltungsempfinden passt.<\/p>\n<p>Der erste Wermutstropfen dabei ist das Gef\u00fchl einer Mogelpackung, wenn man den Roman aufschl\u00e4gt. Das Buch ist eh schon d\u00fcnn. Zus\u00e4tzlich ist die Schrift offensichtlich gr\u00f6\u00dfer als bei anderen aktuellen B\u00fcchern des Verlags, sodass zumindest ein paar Seiten noch dazukommen. M\u00e4rz 2018:\u00a0<\/strong>Ich habe mit Diogenes \u00fcber die verschiedenen Schriftgr\u00f6\u00dfen geredet und habe folgende Antwort bekommen:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Wir arbeiten je nach Umfang mit drei verschiedenen Schriftgraden und Satzspiegeln.<\/span><span class=\"s2\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Andere Verlage legen Schriftart, Schriftgr\u00f6\u00dfe und Satzspiegel f\u00fcr jeden Titel individuell fest.<\/span><span class=\"s2\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Nat\u00fcrlich dienen die Satzspiegel auch dazu, dem Buch eine gewisse Form zu geben \u2013 auch, damit bestimmte Titel nicht zu umfangreich werden, das geht also in beide Richtungen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Andererseits bemisst sich ja der Wert eines literarischen Werkes nicht anhand der Seitenzahl.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Sch\u00f6n, dieser Einblick in die Produktion. Das Gef\u00fchl, dass ich beim ersten Aufschlagen des Buches hatte, kann ich im Nachhinein leider nicht mehr \u00e4ndern.<\/p>\n<p>Der zweite Wermutstropfen ist das Ende. Der letzte Twist von McCarten ist eigentlich ganz sch\u00f6n, aber leider relativ plump gemacht. Und dies ganz am Ende entl\u00e4sst einen ein wenig entt\u00e4uscht in die Realit\u00e4t zur\u00fcck. Trotzdem hat er mich angefixt und ich wei\u00df, bald muss ich meine\u00a0Hippie\/Beatnik\/Jack Kerouac\/Tom Wolfe\/Ken Kesey-Phase wieder aufleben lassen.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2pwgKTf\">Jack<\/a>\u00a0von Anthony McCarten wurde \u00fcbersetzt von Gabriele Kempf-Alli\u00e9 und Manfred Alli\u00e9 und erschien bei <a href=\"http:\/\/www.diogenes.ch\/leser\/titel\/anthony-mccarten\/jack-9783257068566.html\">Diogenes<\/a>.
