An das <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Locked-in-Syndrom\">Locked-In-Syndrom<\/a>? Stellt euch vor, ein Grippevirus sperrt die Bewusstseine eines signifikanten Anteils der Menschheit in ihre K\u00f6rper, sodass sie sich nicht mehr bewegen k\u00f6nnen. Wenn das gen\u00fcgend wichtige Leute betrifft, wird auch etwas dagegen gemacht. In Scalzis Version wird den eingesperrten Menschen, die Haden genannt werden, ein Roboter zur Verf\u00fcgung gestellt, den sie anstatt ihres eigenes K\u00f6rpers verwenden, um Teil der Gesellschaft zu sein. Chris ist ein Haden und f\u00e4ngt beim FBI an.<\/p>\n<p>Scalzi baut ein spannendes Science-Fiction-Szenario und l\u00e4sst darin einen klassischen Krimi spielen Mit Mord und Komplott und Verschw\u00f6rung. Samt Partnerin, die ihn auf Trab h\u00e4lt. Nur eben ein St\u00fcckchen in der Zukunft.<\/p>\n<p>Ich lese Krimis nicht so h\u00e4ufig. Und wenn, dann nicht des Krimis, sondern des Settings wegen. Wie bei <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mokita.de\/blog\/2016\/02\/17\/roman-kings-of-london-von-william-shaw\/\">William Shaw<\/a>, dessen B\u00fccher in den 1960ern in London spielen. Bei bei <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mokita.de\/blog\/2015\/07\/29\/roman-broken-monsters-von-lauren-beukes\/\">Lauren Beukes<\/a>, deren Realit\u00e4t immer noch ein gewisses Extra haben. Bei Scalzi ist es genauso. Und dazu kommt, dass Scalzi sehr unterhaltsam, sehr filmisch erz\u00e4hlt: Schnelle Schnitte, gute Dialoge und eine gut verfilmbare Story. Ich habe den Roman in zwei Zugfahren runtergelesen und hatte meinen Spa\u00df dabei, auch wenn es mir manchmal zu viele Namen und Personen auf einmal waren. Zeitweise war ich verwirrt, wer nun wer ist.<\/p>\n<p>Und eine Sache, die Scalzi sich h\u00e4tte sparen k\u00f6nnen: Bevor der Roman beginnt, findet man sowas wie einen Wikipedia-Eintrag, der die ganze Sache mit dem Locked-In-Syndrom und den Robotern erkl\u00e4rt. Das br\u00e4uchte er nicht. Innerhalb der ersten Seiten der Geschichte versteht\u00a0man sowieso, wo wir uns befinden und worum es geht. Der Lexikoneintrag macht den Leser d\u00fcmmer, als er ist. Schade drum.<\/p>\n<p>Die gr\u00f6\u00dften Sachen, die mich st\u00f6ren, betreffen aber nicht Scalzi, sondern die deutsche Umsetzung: Das Cover kommt \u00fcberhaupt nicht an die Geschichte ran und verprellt m\u00f6gliche Leser. Schlimmer noch, der Titel: Der englische Titel, &#8222;Lock In&#8220;, konnte wohl nicht verwendet werden, weil der Verlag ein halbes Jahr sp\u00e4ter einen Roman mit dem Titel &#8222;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.randomhouse.de\/Paperback\/Locked-in\/Holly-Seddon\/Heyne\/e479761.rhd\">Locked In<\/a>&#8220; ver\u00f6ffentlicht hat. Dieser hei\u00dft im Original &#8222;Try Not To Breathe&#8220;. Was sind das denn f\u00fcr \u00dcberlegungen, so ein Titelchaos anzurichten, das ja nur noch mehr Probleme\u00a0anrichtet?<\/p>\n<p>W\u00e4hrend &#8222;Lock In&#8220; schon ziemlich genau sagt, worum es im Roman geht, ist &#8222;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.de\/gp\/product\/3453316606\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1638&amp;creative=19454&amp;creativeASIN=3453316606&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=mokita-21\" rel=\"nofollow\">Das Syndrom<\/a><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-de.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=mokita-21&amp;l=as2&amp;o=3&amp;a=3453316606\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/>&#8220; ein so offener Titel, dass sich niemand etwas drunter vorstellen kann, besonders in Verbindung mit dem Cover. Wenn man also Scalzi nicht kennt, wird man hier leider nicht anfangen ihn zu lesen. Was schade ist, mir hat&#8217;s Spa\u00df gemacht. Und ich ahne, dass es noch weitere Geschichten in diesem Setting geben wird. Daf\u00fcr macht diese Welt zu viel Spa\u00df. Wer nach diesem Roman gleich weiterlesen will, der amerikanische Originalverlag, Tor, hat auf ihrer Homepage eine <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tor.com\/2014\/05\/13\/unlocked-an-oral-history-of-hadens-syndrome-john-scalzi\/\">Kurzgeschichte<\/a> ver\u00f6ffentlicht, die zum Roman geh\u00f6rt, die die Entstehung der Welt noch besser erkl\u00e4rt: &#8222;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tor.com\/2014\/05\/13\/unlocked-an-oral-history-of-hadens-syndrome-john-scalzi\/\">Unlocked<\/a>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>Achja, und: lest nicht den Klappentext. Er stimmt nicht.
