Wir tollten da im Garten und so und irgendwann werde ich auf diesen riesigen wundersch\u00f6nen Baum aufmerksam, dessen Bl\u00e4tter der Welt beste Bl\u00e4tterform haben und dessen Bl\u00fcten aussehen wie orange-gr\u00fcne Tulpenkelche. Alter, sage ich, was ist das f\u00fcr ein Baum? Und er sagt, das ist ein Tulpenbaum. Ich nicke, passender Name. So einen h\u00e4tte ich auch gern. Der Freund dreht sich um und sagt zu seinem Vater, Faby h\u00e4tte gerne einen Ableger vom Tulpenbaum. Der Vater strahlt mich an, wirklich? Ich habe unz\u00e4hlige in der Garage stehen. Ich nicke, er rennt und kommt kurz darauf mit einem s\u00fc\u00dfen Pfl\u00e4nzchen wieder, vielleicht 23\u00a0Zentimeter\u00a0hoch, zwei Bl\u00e4tter dieser sch\u00f6nen Form, sonst nichts.<\/p>\n<p>Am Tag darauf, zuhause zeige ich meinem Vater das Pfl\u00e4nzchen und sage, das ist ein Tulpenbaum. Er lacht und sagt, sowas gibt es nicht. Ich sage, doch und der wird riesig. Wo ich ihn denn pflanzen d\u00fcrfte. Er zeigt in die Mitte des Gartens und sagt, wenn er in 40 Jahren dann mal gro\u00df ist, wird er uns Schatten spenden. Ich pflanze also meinen Baum. Check.<\/p>\n<p>Nach dem ersten Winter ist der vielleicht 70 Zentimeter gro\u00dfe Stengel tot. Erfroren. Aber ganz unten, aus der Wurzel kommt ein zweiter Stamm. Nach zwei Jahren ist der Baum gr\u00f6\u00dfer als meine 1,86 cm. Das kommt mir ein bisschen schnell vor, also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.giftpflanzen.com\/liriodendron_tulipifera.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">schlage ich nach<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Der Tulpenbaum gilt als der gr\u00f6\u00dfte Laubbaum Nordamerikas und ist auch in Mitteleuropa winterhart. Erst ab einem Alter von 20 Jahren zeigen sich die ersten Bl\u00fcten.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Papa, sage ich, ich habe uns offensichtlich den gr\u00f6\u00dften Laubbaum Nordamerikas in den Garten gepflanzt mit einer Baumh\u00f6he von 40 &#8211; 60 Metern.<\/p>\n<p>Nach 5 Jahren \u00fcberragt mich der Baum locker. Jetzt ist er seit acht Jahren da und ich freue mich jeden Sommer, wenn er seine 20 Jahre hat, damit er Bl\u00fcten wirft. Heute kommt eine Mail aus dem Haus meiner Eltern mit dem obigen Foto. Anscheinend gef\u00e4llt es ihm so gut, dass er jetzt schon die erste Bl\u00fcte geworfen hat. Und sie ist wundersch\u00f6n.<\/p>\n<p>Ich freue mich auf die n\u00e4chsten.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE 23. Juni 2016: Das Internet hat die alten Bilder geschluckt, deshalb habe ich eines aus diesem Jahr eingef\u00fcgt. Immer noch der beste Baum der Welt.
